About Us
Traditions Press Incorporated started as a couple with a passion for Faith, books, and family. Randy and Nancy met at the University of South Carolina in 1969.
Nancy Taylor was born in 1949 in New York. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Philosophy and Emory University with a degree in Library Science. She has worked in public, school and college libraries and has always had a love of books.
In 1979, I had an idea to create a special book for my family to store our Christmas memories. “THE FAMILY CHRISTMAS BOOK” was born with a wing and many prayers. The simple book stores 25 years of family memories and photos at Christmas time. Over the years I have heard from so many wonderful people who have encouraged me to continue producing THE FAMILY CHRISTMAS BOOK as it has filled a need for them to preserve their family memories with a photo and highlights of each year. As the years go by families can reminisce, perhaps with a tear or two, over these treasured family times.
Nancy lives with her husband in South Carolina where she was inspired by the wildflowers while walking with her children in the country near her home. While painting wildflowers with her children with a child’s watercolor kit she developed a love of watercolor and started collecting the wildflowers in season and painting them. “I just needed to get very little brushes (i.e. 000 size) to capture the delicate and splendorous designs in these “small wonders.” She finds a message of constant rebirth and beauty in the beautiful petals and stately stems of whatever is blooming at the time.
Now, retired from library work, she has discovered the enjoyment of producing books using the KDP program at Amazon and finds that the images that she paints work their way into the family memory and children’s books that she publishes.
